URGENT NOTICE: DISREGARD CIRCULATING MESSAGE ON SCHOOL DISMISSAL

To: All Proprietors and Head of Private Schools in Lagos State

From: Office of Education Quality Assurance

Date: 14th May 2026

Subject: Disregard Unauthorized Message on Early School Closure

The attention of the Office of Education Quality Assurance has been drawn to a message circulating in various school groups stating that principals should dismiss students after break on Friday, 15th May 2026, due to APC State Primaries.

This information is false and did not emanate from the Office of Education Quality Assurance nor from Ministry of Basic and Secondary Education.

No directive has been issued by this office or the Ministry authorizing the closure or early dismissal of schools on that date. Private Schools are to continue with their normal academic activities as scheduled.

Kindly disregard the message and treat it as unauthorized. The OEQA will communicate any official directive on private school operations through the proper channels only.
