STAKEHOLDERS ‘ MEETING ON SCHOOL VISITATIONS IN LAGOS STATE TO STRENGTHEN INTER-AGENCY COLLABORATION FOR THE SAFEGUARDING AND WELFARE OF CHILDREN
The Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA), in collaboration with the Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA), Ministry of Youth and Social Development (MYSD), and Lagos State Ministry of Health (LSMOH), convened a Stakeholder Meeting on Visitation to Schools in Lagos State, with a strong focus on strengthening inter-agency collaboration to better safeguard and promote the welfare of children.
The meeting, held on Wednesday, 9 September 2026, at the Conference Room of the Office of Education Quality Assurance, Alausa-Ikeja, brought together key stakeholders to deliberate on effective coordination, information sharing and collaborative approaches towards protecting children within the school environment.
The Director General, OEQA, Dr. Ogunmuyiwa Sulaimon Olagoke, delivered the Opening Remarks, emphasizing the importance of collective responsibility and stronger institutional partnerships in creating safe, supportive and child-friendly learning environments.
The Executive Secretary, Lagos State Domestic and Sexual Violence Agency (DSVA), Mrs. Lola Vivour-Adeniyi presented the Meeting Objectives and Expected Outcomes, setting the tone for meaningful engagement and actionable resolutions.
The session featured robust discussions on improving inter-agency collaboration, particularly in relation to school visitation, child safeguarding, welfare concerns, referrals, intervention and coordinated responses to issues affecting learners.
The meeting further provided an opportunity for stakeholders to identify challenges, share recommendations and explore practical strategies for strengthening collaboration between relevant agencies.
