OEQA Launches Official Dress Code, Honours Outstanding Staff to Boost Professionalism
The Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA) has introduced an official dress code for its workforce and honoured outstanding officers for the first and second quarters of 2026 as part of efforts to strengthen professionalism, staff motivation and service delivery.
The initiative was unveiled on Monday during a ceremony at the agency’s conference room in Alausa, Ikeja, where members of staff from across all directorates gathered to witness the launch of the new corporate identity and the presentation of performance awards.
Speaking at the event, the Director-General of OEQA, Dr. Sulaimon Ogunmuyiwa, said the official dress code and quarterly staff recognition programme were deliberate management strategies aimed at promoting discipline, unity, pride and excellence among employees while reinforcing the agency’s corporate identity.
He explained that the dress code, which takes effect from, Monday, September 14, 2026, prescribes black or navy blue suits with white shirts and red or wine-coloured ties for male officers on Mondays, while female officers are to wear black or navy blue suits complemented with red or wine-coloured blouses, camisoles and, where applicable, matching headgear or scarves.
On Tuesdays, staff are expected to wear the approved customised OEQA uniform with blue or carton-coloured trousers or skirts, while Wednesdays are designated for traditional attire adorned with the customised OEQA brooch. Smart corporate casual wear is approved for Thursdays and Fridays.
According to Ogunmuyiwa, the policy is designed to strengthen the agency’s corporate identity, foster a culture of excellence and project a positive public image. He urged all officers at the headquarters and district offices to comply fully with the directive, warning that any breach of the dress code would attract appropriate sanctions.
The ceremony also featured the presentation of awards to 26 best-performing officers for the first and second quarters of 2026. The recipients were recognised for their diligence, dedication to duty and outstanding contributions to the achievement of the agency’s mandate.
Among those honoured were Mrs. Funmilola Bamisebi, Director of Education; Mr. Isiaka Opeifa, Director of Education; Mr. David Ojelade, an Assistant Director in the Planning, Research and Statistics Department; Mrs. Oluwakemi Adegboye,Assitant Chief Auditor and Miss. Omodamilola Yinusa, Senior Administration and Human Resource Officer.
Congratulating the award recipients, the Director-General urged all staff to emulate their commitment to excellence, noting that the recognition programme would remain a key component of management’s strategy for improving productivity and sustaining high standards in education quality assurance across Lagos State.
Responding on behalf of the awardees, the recipients expressed appreciation to the management of OEQA for the recognition and pledged to remain committed to supporting the agency’s mandate of enhancing teaching and learning through effective quality assurance.
