PRESS RELEASE
DIRECTOR GENERAL OEQA TO VISIT MORE MDAs, STAKEHOLDERS TO STRENGTHEN QUALITY EDUCATION DELIVERY IN LAGOS STATE
In a strategic move to deepen collaboration and strengthen institutional partnerships, the Director General of the Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA), Dr. Sulaimon Ogunmuyiwa, will continue his series of high-level courtesy visits to key Ministries, Departments, and Agencies (MDAs) of the Lagos State Government, as well as selected private sector organisations.
These planned visits are expected to foster synergy, enhance stakeholders’ engagement, and mobilize collective support towards the delivery of inclusive, equitable, and high-quality education across Lagos State.
As part of the ongoing outreach of OEQA, the leadership of the Office led by the Director General had earlier visited notable agencies including the Parastatals Monitoring Office, the Office of Creativity, Transformation and Innovation (OCTI), and the Lagos State Safety Commission.
The ongoing visits will extend to additional MDAs and key private sector organisations, with a focus on building partnerships that will drive impactful reforms, encourage innovation, and enhance accountability within the education sector.
Dr. Ogunmuyiwa, in continuation of the OEQA courtesy visits, will be presenting the agency’s strategic vision, policy direction, and key programmes designed to improve education standards, ensure compliance with established quality benchmarks, and promote continuous improvement across public and private schools in the State.
Speaking during one of his visits and engagements with some government MDAs, the Director General emphasized the importance of inter-agency collaboration in achieving sustainable educational outcomes.
He noted that quality education is a shared responsibility that requires coordinated efforts among government institutions, regulatory bodies, and private sector players.
“These visits are not merely ceremonial; they are deliberate efforts to build strong alliances that will support the mandate of OEQA. We recognise that achieving excellence in education requires a whole-of-government and whole-of-society approach,” he stated.
Dr. Ogunmuyiwa, who assumed office on December 15, 2026, has continued to demonstrate a clear commitment to repositioning the agency as a dynamic and responsive regulator, focused on ensuring that every learner in Lagos State has access to quality education in a safe and conducive learning environment.
Since his assumption of office, the Director General has held a series of strategic internal engagements with management and staff of the agency to review existing frameworks, identify gaps, and introduce innovative approaches to quality assurance processes.
