PRIVATE SCHOOL OWNERS
Dear Sir/ Ma,
REQUEST FOR SCHOOL DATA FROM PRIVATE SCHOOLS
The above subject refers, please.
2. The Office of Education Quality Assurance (OEQA) was established with the core mandate of ensuring a comprehensive and reliable database of private institutions below the tertiary level in Lagos State. This mandate includes the assessment, approval, grading of schools, as well as the comprehensive monitoring and evaluation of both internal and external examinations in public and private schools.
3. Furthermore, the Department of Planning, Research, and Statistics within the agency is specifically tasked with data gathering, collection, processing, analysis, storage, and dissemination. This supports the provision of accurate and timely information to guide effective decision-making and strategic planning.

iv. Identifying Curriculum Gaps: Analysis of student performance data will help identify areas of underperformance and ensure curriculum alignment with desired learning outcomes.
v. Monitoring Teacher Effectiveness: School Nominal Rolls and WAEC results will provide indicators of instructional effectiveness and inform necessary interventions such as retraining, deployment, or support.
vi. Evaluating Educational Interventions: Relevant data will be used to assess the impact of government reforms, teaching methodologies, and intervention programs on students’ performance.
vii. Enhancing Accountability and Transparency: Comparative data analysis will promote accountability among schools and stakeholders, leading to improved teaching and resource management.
viii. Policy Development: Evidence-based data will inform the development and implementation of policies aimed at raising educational quality and standards.

xi. Ensuring Global Competitiveness: Data analysis will help benchmark student performance against global standards, ensuring our students are prepared for international academic and workforce demands.
xii. Fostering Continuous Improvement: The regular review of academic data will help schools and educators refine strategies, improve outcomes, and maintain high academic standards.
